Honoring Juan Ruiz: Volunteering Abroad with the FACES Foundation

At Armonia Home Health & Hospice, we are proud to highlight the incredible compassion and dedication of our team members. This week, we celebrate Juan Ruiz, one of our talented and caring LVNs, who will be traveling to Peru to volunteer as a recovery nurse with the FACES Foundation.

Juan is one of our bilingual nurses with extensive experience in palliative, rehabilitative, and post-operative care, which exemplifies our values of service and compassion. His dedication to improving the lives of others goes beyond the patients he cares for here at Armonia. By joining the FACES Surgical Team, Juan will make a meaningful impact on children and families who need it most.

The FACES Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide comprehensive, high-quality care for medically underserved patients with cleft lip and palate deformities. Beyond surgery, FACES delivers locally sustainable services, training, and education for healthcare providers in the communities they serve. Juan’s role as a recovery nurse is critical to ensuring that patients have a smooth and supportive post-operative experience.

This is Juan’s first year volunteering with the FACES Surgical Team, and he has already expressed his intention to continue contributing to their vital mission in the future. As he represents Armonia Home Health & Hospice in this noble endeavor, we couldn’t be prouder to have him as part of our team. His willingness to step forward and serve underserved communities abroad is a testament to his commitment to making a difference.
